We'll capture her fluid image in this exciting mixed-media workshop featuring: painted backgrounds, stamping techniques using found materials, layered textures, torn paper and embellishments. The surface is an 8" x 10" canvas panel suitable for framing or simply resting on a small easel. No drawing ability is required! Just come along and have fun playing with the possibilities! The Class Fee for "Syrenka" is $50.00. This includes instruction plus all materials needed to complete your project. Students are asked to bring their own lunch. 'Leatherstocking' Chapter Seminar, NY
May 17 - 18, 2014. The Leatherstocking Chapter of the Society of Decorative Painters has invited me to present a two-day seminar for their group in upstate New York. We'll be painting "Gathering Time" (pictured) and "Midnight Blues" a still life of hydrangeas in a Nantucket-style basket. Looking forward to a great weekend in May!
"Last Evening Sail" Canvas Workshop
Saturday, May 3rd 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. By popular demand! We had a wonderful time painting this tranquil scene last fall, and many of our friends requested that the class be offered again. This small canvas is big on color and texture, using complimentary hues, atmospheric perspective to create the illusion of distance, and a variety of techniques to develop grassy texture and foreground details. The Class Fee of $50.00 includes instruction, prepared 8" x 10" gallery-wrapped artist canvas and acrylic paints. Students are asked to bring their own lunch. JB Wood Spring Festival of Decorative Art
Saturday, April 5th. We'll be at the JB Wood Spring Festival of Decorative Arts - their annual warehouse open house - again this year on April 5th. It's a fun day for everyone who loves to play with paint! I'll be joined by a number of other New England artist/designers as we showcase our latest projects, publications, and products for sale. In addition, each artist will teach a free "make it and take it" mini class featuring a surface from JB Wood. I'll be teaching the colorful piece pictured here - "Go Fish" mixed media using found objects and paper scraps!
